Arctic Convoys – National Maritime Museum
On the subject of the Arctic Convoys, the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, England extended its Arctic Convoys 1941-1945 exhibition through November 4th, 2012. There is some interesting vintage footage on the site in which Royal Navy officers and crew sport a variety of nautical, “retro technical” protective clothing, which definitely found their way into Nigel Cabourn’s A/W 2010 Saving the Nation collection.
While you’re at it, have a look at the Arctic Convoys on Flickr and then book your Norwegian fjord cruise. Apparently, there are winter voyages on offer, Wilderness Adventure Camp included. Fun, fun!
