Garrison Series: Fatigue Jacket in Khaki
We learned a bit about “khaki” developing our version for the Fatigue Jacket. In general, khaki spans a range of colors that often includes tan, sand, and stone, which are distinct earth tones in their own right. Khaki has, in our opinion, a hint of green which distinguishes it from these other colors.
When conceiving the Garrison Series, we were thinking along the lines of three themes: land, sea, and sand with khaki as the mainstay of our sand-themed color way. Khaki is such a versatile color at home in a wide variety of environments. Khaki wants to be one with the land or so Isak Dinesen would’ve written – more specifically the land encompassing the Ngong Hills in Kenya. By the same token, khaki doesn’t want to be pinned down any more than Denys Finch Hatton, variable depending on the light, and devilishly difficult to photograph as a result. We’ve done our level best to run khaki to ground and provide a reasonable representation of the color we’ve learned to know and love.
