Garrison Series: Foliage Collection
The Foliage Collection is the first release of new products from our Garrison Series. The Garrison Series is comprised of the following themes: foliage, sand, and sea. We’re working toward a June release for this ensemble plus the Field Shirt in khaki (sand) and a variant of Navy (sea).
The image below, from Army Uniforms or World War 2 authored by Andrew Mollo and illustrated by Malcolm McGregor, played a subliminal role in the evolution of the Foliage Collection. I wasn’t fully conscious of this until we photographed the Presidio Jacket in the A-TACS Foliage Green camouflage pattern and the 100% cotton poplin Field Shirt in Jungle Green as an ensemble. After cleaning up the images, I grabbed the book, thumbing through it until I arrived at plates 196-198, a series of American and British uniforms worn in the Far East and Pacific theaters of operation circa 1945. So, there it is: the serendipitous inspiration behind the Foliage Collection, an idea waiting to happen since I acquired in the book in 1978.
