TANKFARM and Co. Opening at Firehouse 8

God Save McQueen

That’s Steve McQueen in case anyone’s asking. Readers will note that we’ve gone nearly a full year without referencing Steve McQueen. Hard to do, I know, but we’re about to change that.

Southern California-based Tankfarm is heading north to test the waters in San Francisco with a popup shop at Firehouse 8. Mobilized is on the bill for the opening night bash slated for Wednesday November 28th from 5:00-10:00pm PST. We’ll also get a chance to hang out with the Tankfarm crew on Thursday and Friday (November 29th and 30th) from 11:00am-6:00pm PST. We hope you’ll swing by and spend time with us.

Everyone I know will be getting a Tankfarm “GOD SAVE McQUEEN” t-shirt for Christmas this year. Well, maybe not everyone, but at least a few will. After all McQueen is an icon – a character study in the Art of Manliness, driving through San Francisco like a man possessed in Bullitt, albeit different parts of town at the same time, but that’s what it takes to make art.

It’s a shame he departed this life so young with 50 being the new 40 and all. Anyway, GOD SAVE McQUEEN! We mean it, man.
