Team 90 North – Polar Challenge 2015
In addition to our continued development of the Garrison Series, we’ve been busy working on a side project designing and managing the production of an identity and promotional merchandise for Team 90 North’s Polar Challenge 2015 effort.
Team 90 North is the brainchild of Mark Mullan, CEO of Origin8 recruitment and Urgent Care Myanmar. Mark recently relocated to San Francisco from Hong Kong to expand Origin8′s business, assisting technology companies establish an EU presence from a base in Ireland as well helping Irish companies set up operations in Silicon Valley. In addition to being an global technology staffing and recruiting entrepreneur, Mark’s professional roots are in humanitarian aid and relief work, starting his career with the UN in Africa and working to ameliorate the great suffering endured by the people of Somalia and Rwanda in the 1990s.
Mark’s career in relief work spanned some 15 plus years representing the UN, European Union, and working as a consultant to various NGOs operating in Africa. Urgent Care Myanmar, his latest humanitarian endeavor, is well positioned to deliver much needed financial support to a small network of existing clinics located in impoverished areas of Rangoon and ultimately expanding the network into other areas of the country. While these clinics provide general healthcare to hundreds of walk-in patients on a daily basis, Urgent Care Myanmar will focus its funding to provide medications and treatment for HIV and TB as well as malaria prevention. We believe that Mark is uniquely qualified to lead Urgent Care Myanmar, and we are pleased to lend a hand.
The 2015 Polar Challenge provides a great excuse to spend weeks out on the sea ice, trudging 500 miles on foot to the North Pole, pulling sledges chocked full of provisions while being stalked by curious polar bears. What a great adventure and epic fund raising opportunity for Urgent Care Myanmar. Now that we’ve printed up the t-shirts, Team 90 North is committed to see it through, especially since Mark has personally committed himself to the effort with Enda Kenny, the Prime Minister of Ireland, at a recent Enterprise Ireland event in Palo Alto, California. Brilliant! No backing out now “boyo” as they say in County Mayo!
