Flygstridsdräkt 90: Swedish Tactical Flight Combat Suit

As noted in a previous post on the history of Ventile®, it remains in use today by number of air forces as the fabric for immersion suits.

Ventile® was select for this application over synthetic fabrics due to its breathability which provides for greater comfort over a broad range of temperatures in the cockpit and survivability of the suit resulting from rapid air pressure changes, i.e. “explosive decompression” when ejecting from an aircraft at altitude.   The Ventile® L28/L32 immersion suit is a key component of the Swedish Tactical Flight Combat Suit.

For a complete run down of the Flygstridsdräkt 90 Swedish Tactical Flight Combat Suit have a look at this post over on Flightgear Online.

Since the Flygstridsdräkt 90 was originally developed for the Swedish Air Force, I’ve taken the liberty of including several images of the Saab Gripen Fighter System.   Unfortunately, we will not carry the Gripen Fighter System here at Mobilized as the Saab Group has not returned our calls to date.
